Humrahi food distribution outside a hospital in Siliguri Crisis Relief & Nourishment

No forms, no one turned away

In the first COVID-19 lockdown of 2020, this is where Humrahi began — ordinary people cooking and carrying warm meals to those suddenly cut off from food. What started as an emergency relief kitchen never really stopped. It became the everyday work: meals cooked and served, day after day, to whoever needs them.

It has since grown into something steadier — daily warm food, meals carried to families waiting outside hospitals with nowhere to eat, and ration or grocery support when a household is running short. No forms to fill, no questions asked, no one turned away. This is the ground floor Humrahi is built on — the work that came first, and the one that still feeds everything that came after.

Daily warm meals

What began as lockdown relief in 2020 is now an everyday operation — warm food cooked and served without a break, to anyone who needs it.

Meals outside hospitals

Families of patients often wait outside hospitals with nowhere to eat and no way to leave. Humrahi carries meals to them there.

Ration & grocery support

Beyond a single meal, families facing a harder stretch get ration and grocery support to see them through it.

Dignity first, always

No forms to fill, no questions asked, no one turned away — the ethos this pillar was built on, and the one it has never dropped.

A hot meal steadies a day.

Free medical checkup camp run by Humrahi Foundation Health & Dignity

Care that comes to your door

Health & Dignity begins with a simple reversal — instead of asking people to find their way to a hospital, we bring the checkup to them. Free medical camps go directly into underserved communities across Siliguri, treating preventive care as a basic act of dignity rather than a privilege reserved for those who can afford to travel for it.

The same spirit runs through our blood donation drives — an ongoing effort to build a culture where neighbours give to neighbours, one camp at a time. Whether it's a checkup or a donation, everything here is free to those who attend.

Camps, taken to you

Free medical checkup camps go directly into underserved communities, so preventive care reaches people rather than waiting for them to reach it.

Prevention as dignity

Basic checkups are treated as a right, not a favour — an early conversation with a doctor, offered without condition.

Blood donation drives

Regular drives across Siliguri invite neighbours to give blood for neighbours, keeping donation close to the people it serves.

No cost, ever

Whether it's a checkup camp or a blood drive, nothing is charged and no one who shows up is turned away.

Preventive care, taken to the doorstep — because dignity shouldn't require a journey.

The planet they'll inherit

This pillar looks further out than a single day. It asks what kind of ground, and what kind of chance, the next generation grows into — and treats both as worth protecting now, not later.

On one side, less plastic, more recycling, and discarded material turned into something useful — waste to worth, not waste to landfill. On the other, schools in underserved areas adopted outright and given resources, programmes, and a presence that doesn't disappear after one visit. Different work, same instinct: show up for what's coming.

Waste to worth

Plastic reduced, material recycled, discarded things upcycled into something useful — waste turned to worth, not just cleared away.

Adopted schools

Schools in underserved areas adopted outright — given resources, programmes, and a steady Humrahi presence, not a one-time visit.

Siliguri's first plogging drive

On World Environment Day 2026, 100+ volunteers turned out for Siliguri's first plogging drive — picking up litter as they walked and ran, clean streets and community in one motion.

One belief, two fronts

The environment work and the education work meet in the same idea: protecting the planet and preparing the children who'll inherit it are the same job.

The ground they'll stand on, the classrooms they'll grow up in — both worth showing up for.

The bigger picture

A living ecosystem
for sustainable change

"Lasting change grows from the conditions inside a community — where people, businesses, and purpose find each other and stay."

Humrahi began by feeding people in a crisis. But the crisis revealed something deeper: communities that endure aren't the ones with the most help from outside — they're the ones with an ecosystem around them.

We are building that ecosystem in Siliguri and beyond. A network where sustainable enterprises thrive, support each other, and grow alongside the communities they serve. Where waste becomes livelihood. Where an NGO's reach doubles because someone is working alongside them.

The pieces connect. A warm meal opens the door; a cleanup drive clears the ground; an adopted school keeps a child in class; a health camp keeps a family earning; and a local enterprise turns that momentum into a livelihood that lasts. Each piece makes the next one possible.

Humrahi works at the edges of this network rather than its centre, holding the connections together and staying present, consistent, and accountable.

Sustainable Businesses

We connect businesses operating sustainably to communities and markets that need them.

NGO Collaboration

We add ground presence and community networks to missions other NGOs already lead, so their reach goes further.

Waste Upcycling

Turning waste into value — livelihoods and closing the loop on how communities consume.

Community Infrastructure

Food, schools, health — the foundations without which no ecosystem holds.
